Doctors of Optometry – A Gateway for Health Care

Jan 26, 2021 | Beyond 20/20

A discussion about trends in eyecare and vision care today that are important to consumers, patients and families.

Doctors of Optometry are a Gateway for health care – working with other health care providers to identify warning signs and overall health issues.

Dr. Wolfe: “When we think about the patients we serve as the primary care providers for eyecare services – it’s not just “can you see well”, but also identifying other diseases that may prevent you from seeing well in the future, and an indicator that other diseases may be going on.

“We are the first stop for eyecare services in communities – not just big towns – but communities of all sizes across the state. We have training and knowledge and education that allows us to serve most patients with most vision problems and most ocular health problems most of the time.”
